Does Your AC Have Low Refrigerant?

There are many different things that can go wrong with your air conditioner. But if you don’t know much about cooling systems, there may be some issues that aren’t so obvious to you. But there is one problem that can be pointed out by just about anyone. Having a low refrigerant level. Here are some signs to keep an eye for.

The air being blown from the vents is warm. The purpose of the refrigerant is to absorb the heat from the air that is blowing into your home. So the less refrigerant in the system, the less heat that is being absorbed. And the less heat being absorbed, the more heat being blown through the vents, thus resulting in a lukewarm air flow.

Your energy bill is higher than normal. Without refrigerant, your air conditioner has to run longer to cool your home which causes an impact on your electricity bill.

Your AC is making strange noises. If you’ve noticed any type of bubbling or hissing sounds, this is an indication that there is refrigerant escaping somewhere along the line, therefore reducing the levels.

So if you’ve noticed any of these signs with your own personal cooling system, you may be low on refrigerant. But just to make sure, give Service All-Stars a call at (310) 439-5027.
